Panasonic's Front Projectors - Panasonic front projectors

Keeping pace with the rest of the companies that are into the manufacture of projectors, Panasonic has, since 1990 has released its line of front projectors. Since then, Panasonic has been able to manufacture various models of front projectors that are widely used for home theaters.

In the line of the Panasonic front projectors is the PT-AE500 released in December 2003 at a suggested retail price of $2499.95. The new home PT-AE500 cinema projector has high-definition wide-screen (1,280 x 720 pixels) LCD panels, integrated cinema circuitry, full 10-bit digital processing and gamma correction, and new smooth technology. Its 3-layer RGB structure has an effective total of approximately 2.76 million pixels. The LCD panels delivers 850 lumens of brightness with a contrast ratio of 1,300:1. Its built-in quiet fan uses twin blades to lower operating noise while reducing light leakage. A trigger terminal is also fitted, so opening and closing the screen can easily be done by turning the projector on and off.

Just recently, an addition to the Panasonic front projectors line is their latest model PT-AE1000 1,080p LCD-based cinema projector. The unit has a 14-bit dynamic gamma correction feature and is designed as 'an affordable luxury for entertainment enthusiasts that desire a rich home theater viewing experience,' the company said.

Pricing of PT-AE1000 has not been announced yet although Panasonic claims this projector delivers full HD resolution, and features a 2x optical zoom lens with lens-shift function; and has the capacity to project a 100-inch image from 10-20 feet away. Brightness for this model is rated at 1,100 lumens while contrast ratio was said to be 11,000:1.

Another of the Panasonic front projectors is the PT-AX100 that uses the LCD technology (at a suggested retail price of $2,999). This model by Panasonic is designed purportedly to produce images that are brighter and more attention-grabbing. This model features a native resolution of 720p. Its 220-watt UHP lamp can generate 2,000 ANSI lumens of brightness while rate of contrast ratio is 6,000:1.

This model likewise incorporates Panasonic's new Light Harmonizer image technology - a feature that can measure ambient light and adjusts the screen brightness so that images remain sufficiently bright, crisp and vivid even in well-lit rooms.

Another feature of Panasonic front projectors is the new Pure Color filter, which is incorporated also in this model. It uses optical adjustment to achieve more accurate color reproduction, which is advancement to the conventional projectors that reproduce color by adjusting the white balance.
