Start Your Own Music Streaming & Selling Platform without Music Distributors
Hello there! Are you a independent artists, musician, producer or beat maker? If so, are you tired of relying on the major DSP's platform to distribute your music? Have you ever been accused of streaming fraud, had funds withheld from your account or had your music taking down off music platforms?
What if I told you that you could eliminate the middle man in your music promotion, which is the DSP's? Create your own music streaming and selling platform within your own website? You're probably thinking, "I can't do all that on my own without a team". But I'm here to tell you. You can with this new software, I'm about to share with you.
Here's How You Can Get Starter
1st, you will need to get a web hosting account with a web host provider. You can use shared hosting or VIP hosting. Any web host that supports php will work. We recommend Hostinger.com, their shared hosting accounts starts at $2.99 a month.
Next, you will need about 3 pieces of software for your computer. You may find that you probably already have some of these programs on your computer. If not, check below for the download links. And last, you will need Sky-Tunes software for your server.
What Is Sky-Tunes?
Sky-tunes is a php template that allows you to sell your streams, music & beats on your own platform. The installation is super easy. After you have purchased Sky-Tunes. Extract Sky-tunes.zip to your computer. Use Filezilla or other file transfer program to copy the contents of the folder to the root directory of your website. Your installation is now complete.
3 Programs You May Need For Your PC
1st, Any Photo Program, to resize your albums artwork. Your album artwork will need to be 300 by 300 pixels for best results.
2nd, Any MP3 Rip Program. You will need to rip your songs to 1 min long previews. We recommend Audacity for its "bulk Import" and "Multi Export" features. These features saves you time.
3rd, Any Video Creator Program. You will need to rip your entire album to a MP4 file. The MP4's are only viewable to your subscribers. And used for album streaming. We recommend Video Pad, because it's easy to use.
Adding Your Albums Too Your Site
Before you add your album to your site. 1st create a folder on your computer with your albums files inside it.
The folder name must be formatted like the following:
Catalog Number, space, dash, space, Album Title, space, dash, space, Artists Name, space, dash, space, Genre, space, dash, space and Year Of Album. Example "1 - Album Name - Artists Name - Rock - 2025".
Inside your album's folder add your 1 min MP3 previews. We recommend mp3 format of 256k which is easy on bandwidth and your web server's disk space. Also include your 300 by 300 size album cover. Name your album cover, "cover.j.p.g". If you have any album credits or shout outs, write them in a txt file name "credits.t.x.t". If you wish to sell beats, add a txt file name "sell beat.t.x.t".
If you wish to offer streaming services, add a folder inside your album's folder named "video". Now open your "video" folder and add your album's video named "stream.mp4" and your album's timestamp file name "stream.t.x.t".
Now open your website through ftp, find the "stream" folder and open it. Then upload your album's folder inside your "stream" folder. And that's it. Refresh your Homepage and your album should show up.
Login Admin Dashboard
To login your Admin dashboard, visit your "Homepage" and click "Admin" at the lower left-hand corner of your homepage. Your default password is @1234. Once you have logged in, you will see settings menu popup. Settings button will also be located at the bottom left-hand corner of your homepage.
Once you have logged in, you should change your password and not use the default password. You can also add your site's Title, Description, Author and Keywords. Below you can edit your site's header color, page color and menu color. Under file type you can select the types of files you will send your customers when they purchase your music downloads. Please remember, that you have to take care of the downloads order yourself after you get a sale. You must send your customer a download link. We recommend you add your album to a dropbox link and send to your customers after they have order.
Setting Prices and Payment Types
You can sell monthly streaming, downloads, USB Drives, Cd's and Vinyl. You can set these prices and your Admin dashboard. If you wish to not sell and item, for example - you don't want to sell cd's. Then just leave the price blank in your dashboard. Sky-Tunes can accept 3 types of payments PayPal, Zelle and cashapp. If you wish to not use one of these options, just leave it blank.
Don't Lose Your Settings!
Make sure you click the "Save & Update" button near the bottom of the screen, after you have made changes in your Admin Dashboard.
Selling Beats
You can set your price for "Unlimited License" and "Exclusive License" within your admin dashboard. You can also select the file types that are included with each license. When you generate a beat license a copy goes to you and your client's email.
Setting up Streaming Accounts for Clients
After you receive a new PayPal subscriber, please add their email and password in your Admin dashboard so they can access their streaming account. To do this scroll down to the bottom of your Admin Page and click the "Add, Edit Or View Subscribers". Then all you do is enter your subscriber's PayPal email and click "add". Sky-Tunes will send an email notification to your subscriber containing their username and password plus create their account. You can also create a test account to see the user interface and experience. Your monetize code, if added will not be shown to your streaming Subscribers as they have an ad free experience.
